The newly launched Russian satellite Express AM-4 which was known as the most powerful satellite ever built in Europe has lost track with Russian space agency. This satellite was launched recently from Kazakhstan where Russia has a leased launch pad.

According to space scientist related with this mission said that the cause of communication lost was the failure of Briz-M upper stage. Experts are trying to re-establish the connection with the craft, however according to officials there are only 75% chances of re-establishing the contact back with craft.

The spacecraft is insured for $264.5 million with premier insurance company of Russia, Ingosstrakh.

This failure is a hard blow on Russian space industry and can delay many important projects by 3 to 4 years. Earlier this year, Russia space agency have faced unsuccessful launch of three orbiters which resulted in a loss of $160 million after these orbiters crashed in Pacific Ocean.
